KDRT is a low-power (LPFM) radio station broadcasting at 95.7 FM in Davis, California, and streaming worldwide via KDRT.org. LPFM is a special class of noncommercial educational radio – stations of 100 watts or less – created to fill the loss of local content caused by the ever-expanding consolidation of corporate media companies. While commercial media tends to focus on sensational, fear-inducing, and/or profit-seeking content, KDRT works to highlight art, music, independent news, public-affairs programming, and good works in general. KDRT is a core project of Davis Media Access, a nonprofit community media and technology center.
